Explanation of some concepts and ratios

Dividend pay-out ratio = The dividend pay-out ratio is calculated as the sum of the actual interim and proposed final dividend for the year as a percentage of the net profit for the year.

Return on equity = Return on equity is the amount of net profit returned as a percentage of the (weighted) average shareholders’ equity.

Return on net captal employed =  Return on net capital employed measures a company’s profitability and the efficiency with which its capital is employed. This indicator reflects the EBIT as a percentage of the average net capital employed.

Solvency = Solvency reflects the total shareholders’ equity as a percentage of the total assets.
